The girls varsity took control in the first game of the match by a
score of 620 to 539 and never looked back in the easy 2021 to 1464 win
over Evans Tuesday night in a match bowled at Brunswick Wekiva Lanes in
Apopka. This increased their record to 6-4. Leading the way for the Lady
Darters were Catrina Cruger with a 203 game and a 479 series and Robin
Wright with a 471 series. Starting their first varsity match were Stephanie
Baer, Ashley Preston, and Christina Cordello. “This was a nice chance
to play and start some of our younger players for the varsity. The match
was never in doubt, and everybody had a chance to play. It was also our
first night match ever, and that was fun also.”
The boys varsity increased their record to 7 wins and 3 losses with an
easy win over Evans. The score was 2685 to 2109. Kyle Paxson led the way
with 3 games over 228 and a nice 732 series. James Morris got to see his
first varsity action. “This match was also decided by the 5th frame
of the first game. We won the first game by almost 300 pins and let almost
everyone play. It was nice to relax a little and try some new ideas as
we get ready for a tough upcoming week with 3 matches, including always
tough Timber Creek and Edgewater. Those 2 teams, Winter Park, West Orange
and us are all capable of beating each other at any given moment; and
one of these should be the district champ crowned November 9 at Boardwalk
Bowl in the district championship.”
The JV boys won by forfeit. They now have a record of 9 wins and 1 loss
for the season.
The JV girls won by forfeit. They are now 7 and 3 for the season.
